Studebaker + Pizza = The Rolling Stonebaker

My two favorites: Studebakers and pizza.

"Young chefs discover the schedule of a brick-and-mortar restaurant is not conducive to new families, so the benefits of a food truck were enticing: low overhead, flexible schedule, mobility, interaction with customers, and oh ... no laws in their town prohibiting it." Not a Studebaker in Sight

We attended Twilight Thursday at the Sac Zoo last night. There were plenty of great classic cars, but not a Studebaker in sight. "Doc" could have held his own, for sure.

Check out these great cars.

Building 85 - Studebaker, South Bend, Indiana

I happened upon two impressive photos today. One is of the interior of Studebaker Foundry Building 85 in 2006. The other is of Building 85 in 2007. This building was demolished in order to make way for Ignition Park, a tech hub. The scale of the building as well as the soft light within the dire environment is striking.

Too Cool - Pontiac - Transparent Display Car

Truly a one (or three) of a kind. "RM Auctions will offer a most unusual Pontiac – the transparent display car that GM built for the 1940s World’s Fair."

"After Pontiac showed the Plexiglas-bodied car both in New York City and around the country, it ended up in the Smithsonian, where it remained through the duration of World War II. From there, it went to a couple of Pontiac dealers in Pennsylvania before another Pennsylvanian, Don Barlup, bought it in 1973."

Studebaker Man - Halstead

"Chances are that you recognize the name Vern Ediger. Ediger owns and operates E&V Motors in Halstead, an auto repair, engine rebuilding and towing service. But his real passion is Studebaker cars and trucks and he owns one of the largest Studebaker salvage yards around, with 120 parts vehicles on hand at any time. If you need a Studebaker part, he's the man to call."

This article features 25 great photos.

Studebaker Discontinues US Production

"After serving the transportation needs of America for more than 114 years, Studebaker has discontinued the manufacture of automobiles."

"Because it is, and always has been, a fine car, we are confident that you will continue to receive a full measure of value from your Studebaker."

Stude-amino - Project Car Hell

Whoa. "A 1946 Studebaker Truck tilt front end and a Dodge dually truck bed with a 1950 Studebaker Champion body in between."

Purple Studebaker Hawk

This stunning Hawk was on display in Fair Oaks, CA a few weeks ago. I think that the two-tone looks great. Thanks to @gregoryries for the photograph.
