1947 Studebaker Pickup - Old Cars Weekly
"Frye has certainly earned the right to enjoy his truck. After buying the battered machine in 2003, he realized he had so many things to fix that he wound up buying a second Studebaker pickup as a donor truck. From that point, he combed the country tracking down parts and networking with Studebaker enthusiasts to figure out how to put an authentic M-5 back together."

Just Plain Cool: Texaco-Branded 1935 Diamond T Doodlebug
The Just a Car Guy blog has a great entry highlighting the Texaco-Branded 1935 Diamond T Doodlebug.
I bought an ERTL Doodlebug toy bank yesterday at the Sacramento Antique Fair. The banks can also be had on eBay for around $25 or less. Each toy box is individually numbered and the toy is well made.

Not a Studebaker in Sight
We attended Twilight Thursday at the Sac Zoo last night. There were plenty of great classic cars, but not a Studebaker in sight. "Doc" could have held his own, for sure.
Check out these great cars.

New Family Member - 1942 Dodge Truck
We have a new family member! A 1942 Dodge pickup truck with modern power, brakes and A/C. And while I still hold out hope for "the Studebaker 2R in Curtis Park," I do love the nose and grill on this Dodge.
A bit of history on Dodge trucks:
"- First the engineering and design work to develop a light-duty Dodge military 4 wheel drive truck began in 1940.
- Second, the first light-duty factory built 4WD pickup was introduced in 1946 (The Power Wagon will be covered in a later segment).
- Third, these were the first pickups to be assembled in Dodge Truck's huge, new trucks-only manufacturing plant.
- Fourth, Dodge was the first of the Big Three truck manufacturers to offer a diesel powered truck. It was all the more remarkable because Chrysler engineered and manufactured its own heavy-duty diesel engine.
- And lastly, these pickups are the most popular pickup series with Dodge truck collectors."

1947 Studebaker M5 Pickup Truck - Well Said
You don't have to be rich to have fun.
"It wasn't the Studebaker's inherent beauty that motivated me to shoot this feature on Bruce Johnson's '47. Sure, it's a neat ol' truck but what motivated me is the fact that it's a low-buck owner-built one that exemplifies something I've been preaching for years: You don't have to be rich or a mechanical whiz to enjoy the fruits of the classic truck hobby. All one needs is the desire, some free time, and a few stray bucks here and there to end up with something that'll be worth its weight in gold in self satisfaction and a whole lotta fun."

Studebakers - New on Car Carriers
I love old photographs of Studebaker dealerships and such. This is the first time that I've seen photographs of new Studebakers on car carriers.
Scroll down the page to see Studebaker pick-ups, 1951 Champions, and a few Packard pick-ups.
See all of the photographs here.

1950 Studebaker Truck Restoration
There is a nice restoration of a 1950 Studebaker truck on the Route 66 Restoration website. Quote:
"This truck fell victim to some neglected and aged wiring within the distributor which left things a bit crispy. We re-wired the ignition system, tweaked a few things and the owner was back on the road enjoying his rare and eye-catching truck that turns heads wherever it goes."

Studebaker Truck - Sacramento
My love of Studebaker was reignited by the Studebaker truck below. This Stude is parked in Curtis Park, Sacramento, 24/7. I've also seen its driver maneuvering it up Highway 80; it was a picturesque event with this old Stude breezing past farms and over the floodplain.

Studebaker Meet-Up - Sacramento - Photographs
The Karel Staple chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club is exhibiting a half-dozen members' cars at the Towe Auto Museum in Sacramento, CA, including a 1951 Studebaker Champion and a 1950 Studebaker Commander.
Another great set of Studebakers were in the parking lot during today's Karel Staple Chapter meeting. Photographs of some of these vehicles, including a Studebaker truck, Champion and Golden Hawk are below.
