There were a few dozen mid-century cars at the Sacramento Executive Airport as part of the 2013 Mid-Century Modern Home Tour. From Harley Earl designs, to a Citroen, to some really wonderful American convertibles.
There were two Studebakers in attendance: "Doc," our 1950 Champion, as well as a modified 1950 Starlight Coupe whose owner inquired about the local Karel Staple Chapter Studebaker club.
The Mid-Century fans had lots of questions about the Bourke/Loewy nose-cone design. If you're interested in the Mid-Century Modern Home Tour and car show, go to either http://sacmcmhometour.blogspot.com and/or http://www.facebook.com/SacMod.

Sacramento Mid-Century Modern Home Tour
Mark your calendars!
"On Saturday, June 26, 2010 the Sacramento Mid-Century Modern Home Tour will provide enthusiasts of architecture and design an opportunity to discover what it’s like to live, work and play in more than 15 quintessentially Californian residential and commercial structures built between 1945 and 1970. This year's tour features homes within Sacramento’s South Land Park and adjacent neighborhoods, which contain hundreds of Mid-Century Modern residential and commercial buildings.
Tickets are $20 in advance and will be available to purchase online and at various Sacramento locations beginning April 1st, including Capital Nursery and Blomberg Windows. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $25 at the check-in desk at Sacramento Executive Airport. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Short Center South, a neighborhood organization providing studio art and recreational opportunities for people with developmental disabilities."
Local Studebaker owners that want to show off their cars in front of one of these homes on the tour date should contact me. I would be glad to introduce you to the tour organizer. Email me at jason /at/ jasonmichaels /dot/ com.
