Sacramento Mid-Century Modern Home Tour
Mark your calendars!
"On Saturday, June 26, 2010 the Sacramento Mid-Century Modern Home Tour will provide enthusiasts of architecture and design an opportunity to discover what it’s like to live, work and play in more than 15 quintessentially Californian residential and commercial structures built between 1945 and 1970. This year's tour features homes within Sacramento’s South Land Park and adjacent neighborhoods, which contain hundreds of Mid-Century Modern residential and commercial buildings.
Tickets are $20 in advance and will be available to purchase online and at various Sacramento locations beginning April 1st, including Capital Nursery and Blomberg Windows. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $25 at the check-in desk at Sacramento Executive Airport. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Short Center South, a neighborhood organization providing studio art and recreational opportunities for people with developmental disabilities."
Local Studebaker owners that want to show off their cars in front of one of these homes on the tour date should contact me. I would be glad to introduce you to the tour organizer. Email me at jason /at/ jasonmichaels /dot/ com.

1955 - Studebaker Advertisement - SacBee
"Studebaker ... so much better made ... worth more when you trade.
In looks alone, Studebaker is far, far ahead - the winner of 34 important Style Awards."
The Studebaker dealer in the ad, Chester Palmer, 515 Riverside Ave, Roseville, CA, is no longer a building; it's an empty lot. Love the ad though!
Many thanks to Eichlerific for this ad.

Emblem - Hubcaps - Map Light - Studebaker Champion
A few new additions to the 1950 Studebaker Champion. We replaced the hood emblem, added the map light lens (although we need to properly install it inside the dash), as well as four new hubcaps.
While I prefer the original hubcaps with the STUDEBAKER CHAMPION text stamped around the perimeter, these replacements sure are shiny. The plan is to eventually re-chrome the original hubcaps.

Studebaker Meet Up - Business Cards
I'm a fan of printing. Flyers, posters, cards, business cards, books, t-shirts, etc. For fine art I recommend RedBubble.com, but for business cards I love Moo.com.
I attend a few Studebaker meet-ups yearly and like to hand new connections something they'll remember - a matte finished, laminated, slightly oversized business card featuring one of the 40 photographs of Studebakers that I've taken over these past few years.
Here is a screen capture of my business card and some of the images featured on my cards. Also, here are a few of my Studebaker images on RedBubble.com. See pages two and three for other images too.
