Mercedes-Benz W111 - 220 SE Sedan

With the volume of classic cars in midtown Sacramento, CA, I could have my own "Down the Street" series a la Jalopnik.

Here's a Mercedes-Benz 220 SE. The owner explained that he's had the car for 15-plus years. The mechanics are stock and the paint is period and new. It was a lovely car -- complete with a kid's booster seat.

I am surprised every time I see a Studebaker in Sacramento, CA. Today, I spied this 1963 Lark Daytona outside of ACE Hardware on "I" Street. It looks like a fun 'rod and sports a cloverleaf and flames theme. Enjoy!

Studebaker Love Story - 1953 Champion Starlight Coupe

“I’ve been a Studebaker man since I was 16,” says 50-year-old Kevin Fonseca, who was seven when the last Studebaker came down the production line in Hamilton, Ont.

Desperately Seeking Sky Hawk - 1956 - Studebaker Sky Hawk

Let's give this Studebaker story a positive ending ...

"I'm looking for a 1956 Studebaker Sky Hawk that used to be owned by my father. Purchased used from Larry Wright Studebaker Agency in Pasadena, CA on Colorado Blvd. in late 1962 or early 1963. It had the yellow on black California license plates JYC 500."

1954 - Pontiac - Star Chief Straight Eight

A quick digression ... I caught site of this 1954 Pontiac Star Chief Straight Eight outside of a drug store on Broadway in Sacramento, CA, on Sunday. The new owner is the car's third - a young guy that picked up this sweet, stock ride in Modesto. The car has some exceptional side chrome trim - really nice stuff.

Below is a camera phone photograph of a '46 Packard Clipper Super taken tonight outside the Tower Cafe in Sacramento, CA. The windows were down and I got a nice look at the beautiful wood dashboard. A wonderful car in very good shape.
